Terms
Terms of service
1. About us
Services are provided by Matthew Charles Anderson, a sole trader trading as Sentinel Wolf Intelligence & Investigations (not a limited company), 1a Maesllwyn, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, SA18 2EG, United Kingdom. Contact: mcanders530@gmail.com, 07508 792031. We work with individual consumers and businesses.
2. Our services
We provide public-source (OSINT) research, company, people and supplier verification, website legitimacy checks, manual digital-footprint audits, document, historical and military-service research, and client-authorised property/security reviews and incident documentation.
All work uses lawful, publicly available or client-authorised sources. We do not offer covert monitoring, intrusive tracing, doxxing, facial recognition, hacking or unlawful access, and we are not affiliated with police or government. We hold no formal private-investigator accreditation. Research support is not legal advice; security recommendations are advisory, not installation or certification.
3. Quotes and how a contract is formed
Enquiries, portal accounts and the free self-assessment do not order work. Advertised prices are starting prices. We send a written quote setting out the question, lawful purpose, sources, deliverables, timing, price and any extra costs (such as archive fees or travel). A contract is formed when you accept the quote in writing (email or portal) and we confirm. Changes to scope or cost require your written agreement.
4. Payment
Payment is by bank transfer. 50% of the quoted price is due upfront before work starts, and the balance is due on delivery of the report. Agreed third-party costs are listed in the quote. No other fees or deposits apply.
5. Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you are a consumer and the contract is made at a distance or away from our premises, you can cancel within 14 days of the contract being formed without giving a reason. Send a clear statement to mcanders530@gmail.com or by post to the address above. You may use this optional form:
To Matthew Charles Anderson, trading as Sentinel Wolf Intelligence & Investigations, 1a Maesllwyn, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, SA18 2EG, United Kingdom, mcanders530@gmail.com: I/We hereby give notice that I/We cancel my/our contract for the supply of the following service: [service]. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Signature (paper only). Date: [date].
We will only start within the 14 days if you expressly ask us to. If you then cancel, you pay a proportionate amount for work done up to cancellation. Once the service is fully performed at your request, having acknowledged that you would lose the right to cancel, the right ends.
6. Refunds
On a valid cancellation we refund what you have paid, less any proportionate amount for work already done at your request, within 14 days, to the account you paid from, with no refund fee. If we cannot complete agreed work, we refund the amount paid for the part not delivered. Your statutory rights below also apply.
7. Your responsibilities
You must give accurate information, state a lawful purpose and your relationship to the subject, and have authority to commission the work. Property reviews require the owner's or authorised occupier's permission. Use reports only for the agreed lawful purpose — never for harassment, stalking, discrimination or unlawful monitoring. We may decline or stop work we cannot lawfully support, refunding the unperformed part.
8. Limitations of the service
Public records can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Reports separate sourced findings from unverified information and inference, and reflect the sources available at the date of research. A limited check is not an exhaustive background investigation or proof of legitimacy or wrongdoing, and we cannot guarantee a particular finding, security outcome, recovery of funds or court admissibility. The free self-assessment scores only your answers and searches nothing. None of this reduces our duty to use reasonable care and skill.
9. Confidentiality and reports
We keep your case information confidential and share it only with you, users you authorise on the case, or where the law requires. Reports are delivered through the private portal and deleted from it 90 days after delivery, so keep your own copy. You may use the report for your own lawful purposes and share it with your professional advisers; we keep copyright. Personal data is handled under our privacy policy.
10. Your consumer rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 our services must be performed with reasonable care and skill, and information we give you about the service is binding. If we fall short, you can ask us to repeat the work or, if that is not possible, receive a price reduction. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Advice: Citizens Advice, 0808 223 1133.
11. Our liability
We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. For business clients, we are not liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity.
12. Complaints
Contact mcanders530@gmail.com, 07508 792031 or write to the address above with your case reference. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days.
13. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in their local courts.
